Barnes Cracks 5 Hits Tuesday, July 5th , 2112 It seemed Milwaukee (AZL) Brewers left fielder Dave Barnes could do no wrong, but it still didn't come out right. The Brewers fell against the Chicago N (AZL) Cubs by the score of 13-8. Barnes did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but in the end, Chicago N (AZL) prevailed at Sloan Park. "I felt real good, but my best just wasn't enough," Barnes said in the postgame interview. "We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and put the ball in play well, and they fell in for base hits. Some days they do that." Dave Barnes singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th. So far this year, Barnes is batting .429 with no home runs and 1 RBIs.
