Davis Garners AZL #1 Pitcher Award Saturday, September 1st , 2108 When San Diego (AZL) reliever David Davis strolled in from the bullpen in August, it did not bode well for the opposing team. He usually put a quick end to any budding rally. For his excellent mound work he was named the Arizona Rookie League Pitcher of the Month. The Padres reliever had no saves for the month with a 4-2 record and 1.57 ERA. He made 2 relief appearances, hurled 40 innings, yielded 32 hits, fanned 44 and walked 9. Thus far this season, Davis has saved 0 games. His won-lost mark is 5 wins and 4 losses with 76 strikeouts in 70.2 innings, along with a 2.29 ERA. |
