Round 1 Goes the Distance, San Diego (AZL) Prevails

The San Diego (AZL) Padres and Texas (AZL) Rangers put on a classic Round 1 that was in question until the final game.
In the end, San Diego (AZL) won the deciding contest by a score of 3-0, to take the series 3-2.
"It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Danny Tellechea, who earned series MVP honors for San Diego (AZL). "Our guys are breathing a little easier now."
For the series, Tellechea hit .450 with a .478 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The San Diego (AZL) Padres will play against the Arizona (AZL) Diamondbacks in the next round. Arizona (AZL) won their series against the Los Angeles N (AZL) Dodgers 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
