Dennis Socks It to Red Sox, Cracks 6 Hits
Thursday, July 10th , 2110
After a 6-hit effort to lead New York A (GCL)'s 5-1 victory over the Boston (GCL) Red Sox, third baseman Pat Dennis told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Gulf Coast Rookie League-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at JetBlue Park with a spectacular 6-for-6 game against the Red Sox.

"His swing is getting there," said Yankees skipper David Messer, who spoke glowingly of Dennis after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Pat did that to perfection."

Pat Dennis singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

So far this year, Dennis has hit .400 with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
