5-Hit Blitz by Tampa Bay (GCL)'s McAlear Thursday, July 24th , 2110 Tom McAlear had an answer for everything the Detroit (GCL) Tigers threw at him at Joker Marchant Stadium. The Tampa Bay (GCL) catcher went 5-for-5 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Rays a win, 10-6. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, McAlear said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Tom McAlear singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Rodarte in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jon Cardenas in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
