Ridin' High: Castaneda Hits for Cycle Wednesday, August 13th , 2098 In an outing that will go down in the annals of baseball history, Baltimore (GCL) shortstop Enrique Castaneda hit for the cycle today as the Orioles marched to victory over the Atlanta (GCL) Braves, 5-0. Castaneda collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, including 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. He added 2 RBI and 2 runs scored to help Baltimore (GCL) take the Ed Smith Stadium contest. "It was the last thing on my mind, really," Castaneda said. "I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Even if I had wanted to, hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill anyway." Enrique Castaneda doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Pascal Scholtens in the 5th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
