McClain Goes on Rampage Against Tigers Saturday, August 23rd , 2110 Mike McClain really sizzled at the plate in his team's 18-3 win over the Detroit (GCL) Tigers. The Washington (GCL) second baseman blistered Detroit (GCL) for 6 hits in 7 at-bats. "McClain was too tough to get out today," the Tigers skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Mike McClain hit a solo-shot off Chris Giustino in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, singled in the 7th, flied out in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
