Chrisos and Galarza Suspended, Out 8 Games
Monday, August 5th , 2109
The action was hot and heavy at a recent Seattle (Rk+)-Philadelphia (Rk+) game at Ballpark of Seymour in more ways than one. When tempers flared, both benches emptied and a mild melee ensued. The only thing hurt was a few players' pride. Two of the main figures in the brawl were suspended today by league officials. The Mariners Daniel Chrisos and Philadelphia (Rk+)'s Hector Galarza will each miss 8 games for their roles in the fight.
"We do not condone this kind of behavior on the field," the league announcement read. "As such, we believe that this punishment fits the actions taken by these two players. We hope that there will not be a repeat of the incident or else the consequences will be even more severe."
In 2109 Chrisos has hit at a .336 clip with 40 hits, 2 home runs, 15 RBIs and has scored 23 times.
This season, Galarza has logged no saves. He has thrown 8.1 innings, dished out 9 strikeouts and walked 4 while putting up a 0-0 mark and a 8.64 ERA.
