Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Monday, July 27th , 2111 After an intense confrontation, both the Mustangs Camillo Sapia and the Osprey Bryant Hays were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Billings-Missoula game. Camillo Sapia will miss 5 games, while Bryant Hays was suspended for 7 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Camillo Sapia commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Thus far this year, Sapia has hit .357 with 1 home run and 11 RBIs. Up to now Hays has compiled an ERA of 7.41 with a 1-3 mark over 7 starts. He has 38 strikeouts in 37.2 innings and has held opponents to a .297 batting average. |
