PIO Reliever of the Year Winner Named

Erik Underwood came out of the bullpen and worked through tough situations all year, and for his performance he's been named the recipient of the Pioneer League Reliever of the Year for 2098.

The 23-year-old out of Annetta, Texas captured the award with 2 saves in 31 relief appearances, 48 strikeouts in 47.1 innings and a record of 4 wins and 1 loss to go with his 2.28 ERA.

"I'm thankful, it's a great honor," he told Baseball News Network.

He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 16. Pete Tittle of the Texas (Rk+) Rangers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Adam McDonough of the Missoula Osprey finished third.
