Martinez Shuts Out Chicago, 3-0 Saturday, April 11th , 2111 The Chicago Cubs were almost helpless in their 3-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox and hurler Felix Martinez. Martinez kept the Cubs confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Martinez," Chicago manager Vin Calia said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 27-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Martinez said.
