Tuesday, September 5th, 2056
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Tony Corrales of the Los Angeles Dodgers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 8-4 win over the San Diego Padres at The Pound at Seaport Village.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 24-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Tony Corrales singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Val Cruz in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This season Corrales has 19 home runs and a .267 batting average.
