Great Stroke: McBride Gets 5 Hits Monday, June 30th , 2110 Bret McBride got the glory and the headlines, but the Cleveland Guardians left with the win. The Minnesota third baseman easily handled the Guardians pitching, going 5-for-6, but his Minnesota Twins came out on the short end of the 8-6 score. McBride told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Bret McBride doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
