Parry Shows Off, Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, September 30th , 2110
John Parry truly did it all at Minute Maid Park.
The Texas Rangers third baseman hit for the cycle -- collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- as he paced his club to victory, 12-0, over the Houston Astros.
"You know that sweet sound you hear when you hit the ball just right? I heard that every time today," Parry said later. "It was a heck of a feeling."
It was a game good enough for him to make a little history. He bombed Houston pitching for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and his name will now go into the record books. Parry also racked up 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored in the game.
John Parry tripled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Gardner in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season, Parry is hitting .289 with 126 hits, 9 home runs, 53 RBIs, scored 54 runs and played in 130 games.
