Sunday, October 26th , 2104
Davy Lewis of the Padres was unstoppable in his team's 12-6 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the San Diego right fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."
Davy Lewis hit a two-run home run off Masumitsu Ishikawa in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Phillips in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Martinez in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Lewis on the season is hitting .284 with 3 home runs. His stats include 12 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
