Hits Galore: George Drills 5 Hits Wednesday, October 1st , 2098 5 times is the charm -- at least for Joey George. The Oakland Athletics left fielder tore up the Los Angeles Angels to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Angel Stadium of Anaheim today. The offensive onslaught from George powered the Athletics to a 5-1 win. "George was a tough out today," Los Angeles manager Matt Moore said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Joey George singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Currently George is batting .318 with 182 hits and 3 home runs.
