Red Sox Advance to Championship Series Monday, October 20th , 2098 The Boston Red Sox have swept the Seattle Mariners and are on to the Championship Series. Boston won 7-6 today at Fenway Park to clinch the Division Series. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Boston first baseman Michael Lindstrom, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Lindstrom won the award with a .500 batting average and a .538 on-base percentage.
