Padres Move on to Championship Series Thursday, October 23rd , 2098 Major League Baseball pundits who figured the Division Series between the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with San Diego coming out on top thanks to a 8-2 win in the deciding game at The Pound at Seaport Village, to wrap things up 3-2.
