Monday, May 26th , 2110
Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Whalers-Canaries game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Washington shortstop Edwin Urueta thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Washington to a win, 13-2, over Sioux Falls.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Urueta said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Urueta, who is rated as the 53rd best prospect by BNN, was 3-for-5 on the day with 7 runs batted in.
Edwin Urueta hit a three-run home run off Juan Cruz in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Juan Cruz in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Nate Burciaga in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
So far this season, Urueta is hitting .257 with 6 home runs.
