American Association Selects June's Best Batter Tuesday, July 1st , 2098 Tony Ortiz of the RedHawks hit .348 in June with 11 home runs, 22 RBIs and 23 runs scored to capture a majority of votes for the American Association Batter of the Month trophy. The 29-year-old is in the last year of his contract and will undoubtedly use these numbers to try and bring in a huge pay raise. So far this season Ortiz has gotten 43 hits in 143 at-bats for a .301 batting average with 15 home runs. His stats include 33 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has played in 39 games. |
