Engasser Rocks Admirals for 3 HRs
Sunday, July 1st , 2108
Kansas City T-Bones left fielder Chris Engasser almost did it all. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 4 times and drove in 4 runs and had 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
The one thing he could not do, however, was lead the T-Bones to victory. The Henderson Admirals escaped with the win, 7-6, despite being on the receiving end of the barrage from Engasser.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game.
Chris Engasser hit a two-run home run off Aaron Hill in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Aaron Hill in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Tanner Swenson in the 9th.
"When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win," said Kansas City manager Roland Falk. "We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the American Association. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good American Association hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a good hack at it."
This season in 40 games, Engasser is batting .287 with 11 home runs, 24 RBIs and has scored 34 times.
