Cruz Salas Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year
Friday, July 6th , 2108
The doctors have spoken and Cruz Salas of the Texas AirHogs didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Salas sustained his season-ending injury during the Milwaukee Milkmen game yesterday at AirHogs Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Texas medical staff reported Salas had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.

Looking at his pitching stats so far this season, Salas has 22 relief appearances, pitched 26 innings and fashioned a 2-3 record with a 2.08 ERA. He has recorded 14 saves, struck out 26 and allowed opposing clubs to hit .159 when he is on the hill.
