Meza Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games
Thursday, July 12th , 2108
Ricardo Meza continued his streak at Ballpark of Washington, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Sioux City first baseman was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Explorers were not as fortunate, losing, 5-0, to the Washington Whalers.
"Meza was hitting everything we threw at him," said Washington manager Roger Taylor. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." Ricardo Meza flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
This year, Meza is hitting .288 with 49 hits, 8 home runs, 26 RBIs and has scored 23 runs.
