Winnipeg's McCoy Collects July Batting Honor Thursday, August 1st , 2109 Dustin McCoy is in the final year of his contract with Winnipeg and today added a timely piece of hardware to his trophy case. Playing in 24 games in July the 34-year-old third baseman ripped American Association pitchers for a .304 batting average, nabbing him the Batter of the Month award. He also rang up 8 home runs, 22 RBIs and 16 runs scored. If McCoy keeps up this pace, he'll cost someone a lot of money. In 64 games this season, McCoy has compiled a .216 batting average with 48 hits and 15 home runs. He has also scored 37 times and knocked in 34 runs. |
