Hayes Gets 5 Hits Saturday, July 26th , 2110 All game long, Gary SouthShore's Chris Hayes was rattling the walls at Sioux Falls Stadium and banging out base hits against the Sioux Falls Canaries. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the RailCats had a win, 12-9. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 25-year-old shortstop said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Chris Hayes doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th. This season, Hayes is batting .243 with 37 RBIs, 33 runs scored and 11 home runs. |
