Great Day for Pittinger -- 5 Hits
Friday, August 26th , 2107
The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Dan Pittinger.
The right fielder for the Lincoln Saltdogs hit the milestone against the Sioux Falls Canaries, helping his club to a narrow 10-9 victory. Pittinger finished with a 5-for-7 line at the plate.
"Pittinger was a tough out," Sioux Falls manager Alejandro Moreno told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one."
Dan Pittinger doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Marco Beserra in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Henry Arrellano in the 12th.
So far this season, Pittinger has gotten 90 hits in 325 at-bats for a .277 batting average with 15 home runs. His stats include 37 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has played in 84 games.
