Washington Wins Round 1

Alex Jarquin put the Washington Whalers on his shoulders as they downed the Tucson Chameleons in the Round 1.
Washington won the deciding game by a 5-4 count at Ballpark of Washington and wrapped up the series 4-2.
Jarquin played a key role in the victory, as he was named series MVP for his offensive output, which included a .421 batting average with a .421 on-base percentage, 2 home runs, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored.
"I told myself it was time to step it up and help the team win and I'm glad I was able to do that," he said.
The Washington Whalers will play against the Cleburne Railroaders in the next round. Cleburne won their series against the Lincoln Saltdogs 4 games to 2. The Round 2 is scheduled to begin on September 17th , 2098.
