Tiberio Annoni adds a new pitch to his repertoire Sunday, April 27th , 2110 This offseason, Tiberio Annoni has been hard at work on a new pitch that could redefine his effectiveness on the mound: the curveball. After seeking out new ways to diversify his offerings, Tiberio Annoni worked with the team’s pitching coaches and data scientists to develop this new pitch from the ground up. Starting from his motion and natural release point, the curveball was identified as a good pitch to try out. He then went through the basics of the grip, intent, and release. This was perhaps the longest part of the training, as Tiberio Annoni really got a feel for the curveball. Finally, he met up with the team's data scientists, who made use of advanced biomechanical tracking and video analysis in order to help him refine the spin and movement of the pitch. "I wanted to add something different to my mix," Tiberio Annoni said. "The curveball has a real chance to change the outcome of at-bats, and it’s been a lot of fun working on it." Tiberio Annoni believes the addition of the curveball will make him even more unpredictable and dangerous on the mound.
