Slammers End Blaylock's Streak Monday, August 14th , 2079 It was a doubly miserable day today for Jordan Blaylock of the Sussex County Miners, as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose 13-6 to the Joliet Slammers at SilverCross Field. The 26-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the Slammers. "Anyone on a 22-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Joliet manager Matt Pettis said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Blaylock is batting .285 this season in 84 games with 34 home runs, 73 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has 95 hits in 333 at-bats. |
