League Punishes Pair for Fighting Friday, August 18th , 2079 After an intense confrontation, both the Slammers Mike McClure and the ThunderBolts Bobby Freeman were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Joliet-Windy City game. Mike McClure will miss 3 games, while Bobby Freeman was suspended for 7 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Mike McClure commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." McClure currently has a .254 batting average with 71 hits, 17 homers, 53 RBIs, 50 runs scored and a .376 OBP. For the year Freeman has a 8-7 record with a 4.59 ERA in 19 starts. |
