Friend Gets 5 Hits Friday, June 7th , 2080 No matter what the Florence Y'alls threw him today, Kurt Friend hit it. The 26-year-old Southern Illinois Miners first baseman racked up 5 hits in 6 at-bats today at UC Health Stadium and led the Miners to a 17-3 victory. Kurt Friend singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Tony Herrera in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. This season Friend has hit 4 home runs and posted a .295 batting average. |
