Gatrell Breaks All-Time Hits Record!
Thursday, February 4th, 2044
It's the talk of the baseball world: Justin Gatrell of the Pittsburgh (AFL) Pirates has set a new record for all-time hits with 116. The record was previously held by Aaron Ferguson. He recorded the record-breaker in a contest against the Indianapolis Indians at Managua Fields today.
"It all seems unreal," Gatrell said, seemingly rendered nearly speechless by the moment. "The tributes, the fanfare. It's unreal."
Justin Gatrell flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd and doubled in the 5th.
For the season Gatrell is currently batting .452 with 9 home runs and 23 RBIs. In 20 games he has reached base at a .545 rate and scored 21 runs to date.
