5-for-5 Game for Byrd Friday, February 5th, 2044 It was high-fives all around for Chris Byrd at Managua Fields today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Philadelphia (AFL) Phillies. Byrd smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 12-4 win. "Chris was hitting everything," said Yankees manager Drew Smith. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Phillies manager John Lucidi told BNN beat writers that Byrd "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," he said. "Hopefully, Byrd oversleeps next time." Chris Byrd singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Dan Fry in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
