Kelso Sets New Mark for Strikeouts Sunday, February 7th, 2044 There a new King of the Hill in baseball -- a new strikeout king, that is. Chris Kelso of the Pittsburgh (AFL) Pirates passed pitcher Jon Zullo in career strikeouts and now has the record. He collected strikeout number 82 and set the new standard at Managua Fields today. "Jon Zullo is in a league by himself," Kelso said after the game. "It's unbelievable that I broke his record." For the season Kelso is 0-and-0 with 1 save and a 1.91 ERA. He has given up 24 hits in 28.1 innings with 45 strikeouts. |
