The inspired effort of Cleveland (AZL) first baseman Israel Bonilla was not enough to prevent a loss, 8-4, to the Cincinnati (AZL) Reds. Bonilla was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Carlos Gomez, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. With the win, Cincinnati (AZL) elevates its record to 1-1.

A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Reds sent teenager Mike Zizak to the plate against Guardians hurler Matt McMahon. With a runner on 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 3-1 fastball to score 1.

"We've got great fans," said Zizak. "I hope they got what they came for."
