Brewers Come Back Late, Nip Giants
|
The Milwaukee (AZL) Brewers outlasted Ed Garza and the San Francisco (AZL) Giants, 9-8. Garza was impressive in the loss. The San Francisco (AZL) catcher was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Jake Melton, the 3rd overall pick in the 2108 draft, was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Nate Parker. With the victory, the Brewers upped their record to 12-7.
Raul Hernandez was the walk-off hero for Milwaukee (AZL). With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Brewers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That was a good game -- all the way through," said Hernandez.
