The Padres kept their hot streak going.

The San Diego (AZL) Padres knocked off the Cincinnati (AZL) Reds, 8-5, in Arizona Rookie League action at Ed Smith Stadium. San Diego (AZL) pitcher and Newark, New Jersey, native Rich Leysath had an outstanding performance. Tim Herrera closed it out for his 1st save.

Rene Centeno came through with a big-time hit for San Diego (AZL). The right fielder smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 8-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Padres manager Philip Boswell.
