The Cincinnati (AZL) Reds did just enough to nip the San Diego (AZL) Padres, 3-2, in 10 innings. Cincinnati (AZL) pitcher Nick Combs, in particular, had a standout performance. Cincinnati (AZL) reliever Pat Taylor picked up the win. Josh Sturgess took the loss for San Diego (AZL). Cincinnati (AZL), now 17-7, holds down first place in the Central Division.

The Reds got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Sean Fry. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Reds.

Fry attributed the win to his team's "tenacity."
