A good performance from designated hitter Danny Pentland helped the Cincinnati (AZL) Reds defeat the Arizona (AZL) Diamondbacks, 5-4. Pentland was 2-2 with a double and a walk for the Reds. Chris Lingg recorded his 3rd save for Cincinnati (AZL). With the victory, the Reds record now stands at 12-37.

Cincinnati (AZL) used a timely hit from Jose Ortiz to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Reds ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Nervous? No," said Ortiz. "It was my time to shine."
