The Seattle (AZL) Mariners beat the Cleveland (AZL) Guardians, 5-1, at Peoria Sports Complex. Ruben Jara went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The 20-year old second baseman was a menace to Cleveland (AZL) all day. After today's action, Seattle (AZL) sits at 32-20; Cleveland (AZL) slips to 27-25.

Jara had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-2 fastball from Bill Muffett, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Mariners a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Jara.

"Winning never gets dull," said Jara.
