Voyagers Sink Rangers, 8-3
|
Great Falls pitcher Aaron Plummer did his part in helping his team beat the Texas (Rk+) Rangers, 8-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Plummer, now 5-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Dusty Rhoades earned the save for Great Falls, his 4th.
Miguel Sanchez dealt the Rangers a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Great Falls leading 1-0, Sanchez hit a 1-1 splitter for a run-scoring single.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Plummer told the Great Falls Daily News.
The first-place Voyagers improved to 32-15.
