Tigers Bump Off Cubs, 8-4

Portland played host to Chicago (Rk+) at Hackers Ballpark.
The Portland Tigers overcame a good performance by Chicago (Rk+) second baseman Steve Ridler to knock off Chicago (Rk+), 8-4, at Hackers Ballpark. Ridler went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Ben Lewis. He's now 2-1. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits for the Tigers.
Gil Terrazas had a big 3-run home run for the Tigers in the bottom of the first inning. With Portland leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Ken Ames, who is tied for 3rd in the PIO in quality starts with 7, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Tigers on top, 4-0.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Bill Aguilar said.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 36-30.
