Chicago (Rk+) Loses, 3-0, to Great Falls in 10

The Great Falls Voyagers faced a tough opponent in Chicago (Rk+) pitcher Jon McKelvey, but still scratched out a win at Harbingers Ballpark by a final score of 3-0 in 10 innings. McKelvey went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. Tony Velez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 4-0. The Cubs, at 30-41, have lost 5 straight games.
Great Falls used a timely hit from Bob Parker to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Voyagers ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Parker. "But we got it done."
