Drillers Win Round 1
|
The Tulsa Drillers triumphed 4-3 over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals at Arvest Ballpark in the Round 1 to capture it 3-1.
The victory advanced the Drillers to the Round 2.
For his superb play in the series, Drillers right fielder Dave Galvez garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .571, scoring 3 runs and batting in 5.
"Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the Round 2," Galvez said later. "I'll get to work on that."
The Tulsa Drillers will play against the San Antonio Missions in the next round. San Antonio won their series against the Midland RockHounds 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
