Home Field Advantage: Chambers, Texas (AZL) Open Round 1 with Win
The Texas (AZL) Rangers started the Round 1 in style today, downing the visiting Cincinnati (AZL) Reds at Surprise Stadium by a score of 13-5 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Rangers left fielder Josh Chambers was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Rangers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the first, when shortstop Bryce Sims hit a 2-run single. The single came off Jose Chacon and made the score 4-1, Rangers. Sims was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Sims.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Surprise Stadium. Slated to start are Tony Ramirez for the Cincinnati (AZL) Reds and Raul Logrono for the the Texas (AZL) Rangers.
