Reds Hammered by Haddock, Fall Further Behind in R1
|
The Texas (AZL) Rangers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Cincinnati (AZL) Reds at Surprise Stadium by a score of 6-3. Rangers right fielder John Haddock did some major damage. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win gives the Rangers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.
Mario Ruiz had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth. The Texas (AZL) first baseman came through with a run-scoring single to put Texas (AZL) in front, 4-3.
"This is a very good team," said Haddock. "We have the chance to do something special."
The next game is set to be played Monday, September 7th, 2065 at Ed Smith Stadium. Slated to start are Dean Chase for Texas (AZL) and Tony Ramirez for Cincinnati (AZL).
