The Iowa Cubs had to overcome a fine effort from Omaha pitcher Nick Colley to win, 5-4, at Werner Park. Colley went 8 innings and allowed 5 runs. Omar Zaragoza was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The loss lowers the Omaha record to 2-1.

Joe Crouch had a big 2-run home run for the Cubs in the top of the third inning. With Iowa leading 3-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a curveball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Nick Colley and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Cubs on top, 5-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Crouch said.
