|
Round Rock Express starter Danny Gregory pitched a good game to help his team take down the Salt Lake Bees, 5-1. In 5 innings, Gregory surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Round Rock, at 14-19, occupies third place in the American Conference South Division.
Jesse Velde had a big run-scoring double for the Express in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Round Rock leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Juan Lemos and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Express ahead, 2-0.
Round Rock manager Yukio Tanaka said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
