Fans who congregated at Aces Ballpark were treated to extra-inning drama.

Charlie Smith knocked in 4 runs to help Tacoma beat Reno, 9-6. Smith produced 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Brent Fyffe claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-3.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Smith delivered big-time for Tacoma, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Dan Couture. The game-changing hit put the Rainiers on top, 7-5.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Smith.

At 71-62, the Rainiers have a slim two-game lead in the Pacific Conference North Division.
