Ian Vick, who is tied for 10th in the CAR in innings pitched with 75.2, was locked in. The right-hander led the Potomac Nationals to a 5-1 win against the Winston-Salem Dash at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium. The Nationals now own a record of 33-30.

It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Vick, who tallied 8 strikeouts in 7.1 innings and allowed only 1 hit. Vick, who is tied for 10th in the CAR in quality starts with 7, raised his record to 5-5 on the year with 72 strikeouts.

"Ian gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Potomac manager Cruz Mares.
